We take a great pleasure in informing you that, as of January 13, 2009, Sumipex Tech Sheet Co., Ltd. a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sumitomo Chemical Co., Ltd. of Japan, will acquire the acrylic sheet business of Jiuh Mei Enterprise Co., Ltd. in the form of asset purchase, and commence production and sale of acrylic sheet. (For the avoidance of doubt, Sumipex TechSheet Co., Ltd. is a legally separate entity from Jiuh Mei and has not succeeded obligations or liabilities from Jiuh Mei.) This transaction is aimed at expanding and strengthening the global market position of Sumitomo Chemical group in the field of acrylic sheet by combining its global leading MMA producer position with the state-of-the-art and reliable acrylic sheet of Jiuh Mei. After the acquisition, we would like to continue to supply those acrylic sheets conventionally provided by Jiuh Mei and also will be pleased to offer our new product as well.
