  • Get set for 5 Big stunning 2H Taiwan trade shows

    Jun 08, 2009

Taiwan trade shows point way forward. . .
Get set for 5 Big stunning 2H shows with 80,000 visitors, 7,000 Foreign buyers.
Taipei, Taiwan, June 7, 2009: Five big hi tech events coming in the second half of 2009 promise to boost every facet of the economy. Although each of these trade shows serve their own industries and have their own focus areas, they all share the foundation of Taiwan’s winning hi tech edge.

These 5-Stars ICT Exhibitions, all coming to the TWTC Exhibition Halls, are:

    1) Display Taiwan

    2) TAITRONICS (Taipei International Electronics Show)

    3) Taiwan Int’l RFID Applications Show

    4) PV Taiwan (Taiwan Int’l Photovoltaic Forum & Exhibition)

    5) Broadband Taiwan

Leading this massive show period was the just-completed COMPUTEX Taipei 2009, which offers the world’s top ICT procurement venue.

At a recent TAITRA press conference on these events attracted nearly 50 press organizations from home and abroad to hear the details of this massive teamwork between TAITRA and the co-sponsors of the 5-Stars Exhibitions: the Photonics Industry & Technology Development Association (PIDA), Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI), Taipei Computer Association (TCA), Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers Association (TEEMA).

Taiwan bets on the Krugman solution!

What’s exciting is that many here believe that Taiwan’s economic endeavors match the prescription for recession as laid down by Nobel Prize winner Dr. Paul Krugman on a recent speaking tour to Taipei. Taiwan industry and Taipei Trade shows echo what this award-winning economist stated, that recovery requires the input of new technology or the introduction of environment-related policies so that new investment opportunities can be increased.

“The six new major industries (green energy, tourism, health care, biotechnology, culture and creativity, fine agriculture) that Taiwan government is promoting,” stated a TAITRA spokesperson “just happens to coincide with Dr. Krugman’s views.”

In addition Taiwan’s ICT industries are closely harmonized from up and downstream to provide a comprehensive industry supply chain which has let Taiwan become a vital global technological center.

    Opening the gates of China

At the press conference reporters also heard the Cross-Strait economic and trade exchanges with China have proved a positive force for Taiwan industry since such links now provide industry better access to China's vast market and additional business opportunities.
