it-sa 2016: leading IT security trade fair

IT security solutions, advice, research and training under one roof: it-sa has established itself as the leading information platform for IT security specialists and decision-makers. The IT security trade fair and accompanying congress will make its eighth appearance from 18 to 20 October 2016. Exhibitor numbers are expected to be up once again at it-sa 2016. "In the meantime, the last of the available stand areas have also been booked," said Frank Venjakob, Executive Director it-sa, during the press preview in Munich on 19 July. Israeli and French companies will have pavilions at it-sa 2016, underlining the importance of the event for the sector. The EICAR Conference, which is being included in the Congress@it-sa programme for the first time, will also provide an international focus.

Since 2009, it-sa has brought together exhibitors from all segments of the IT security industry with IT practitioners and decision-makers. This year's event continues the upward trajectory from the previous years: not only does it-sa 2016 expect more exhibitors but the stands are getting bigger too. A large number of exhibitors are investing in larger stands to provide an even better environment for consultations with trade visitors. "Several exhibitors have actually doubled the size of their stands compared with the previous year," stresses Frank Venjakob. At the last event, 99 per cent of visitors polled stated that they were happy with the range on display at Europe's biggest IT security fair as well as the opportunities for making contacts, while 98 per cent would recommend the event to others.

Israeli and French pavilions
At this year's it-sa, the range of information provided will be complemented by international pavilions. As a start-up nation, Israel is a byword for innovation and entrepreneurial spirit. At the Israeli pavilion, for example, trade visitors can find out about security solutions for critical infrastructures or learn how devices can be protected against manipulation in wireless networks. French companies will also have their own pavilion. In terms of import volume, Germany's neighbour is also its third largest trading partner.

Data Center, Start-ups and IAM – special display areas a major drawcard
The growth of digital data volumes brings with it a global expansion of data center capacities. The exhibitors at the Data Center+ special display area offer considerable expertise in the design, construction and operation of data centers. New businesses will be showcasing their talent at the special display area Startups@it-sa and there is also a dedicated area for Identity and Access Management.

Forum presentations on management, technology and trends
At the heart of the trade fair action, companies, associations and organisations can obtain information from the three open forums. In the auditorium, presentations on the latest developments in IT security are addressed to management and decision-makers. The presentations in the blue forum will focus on practical solutions and technologies for secure IT and data infrastructure. In the red forum, which is directed at CEOs, CIOs and IT managers, strategic and economic issues are on the agenda. Some of the highlights in the forum programme include a panel discussion on the latest developments relating to the FIDO authentication standard and an exploration of the EU General Data Protection Regulation. Trade visitors can choose from a total of around 230 forum items.

Congress@it-sa
As always, some events from the accompanying congress programme start on the day before it-sa. To launch Congress@it-sa, the 24th round of the renowned international EICAR Conference will take place on 17 October. Sessions by various companies and organisations on issues like the EU General Data Protection Regulation and strategies to counter current security threats complement the comprehensive range of information offered by the congress programme.

it-sa Brasil – IT security for South America
On 13 and 14 September 2016, the IT security conference it-sa Brasil will bring IT specialists and decision-makers together in São Paulo. The conference organised for the third time by NürnbergMesse Brasil is a discussion platform for experts from prominent companies like Microsoft or KPMG as well as representatives of the R&D community and official agencies. It is accompanied by a foyer exhibition. The it-sa Brasil event is supported by renowned Brazilian business associations as well as by German IT security association TeleTrusT, which is hosting a pavilion under the banner: "IT security made in Germany".

Safety and security fairs from NürnbergMesse
NürnbergMesse has proven expertise in the fields of safety and security. As the host of events such as Enforce Tac – trade fair for law enforcement, it-sa and it-sa Brasil – trade fairs for IT security, FeuerTRUTZ – trade fair for preventive fire protection, Perimeter Protection – trade fair for outdoor perimeter protection and the FIRE & SECURITY INDIA EXPO, it brings together a total of around 1,000 exhibitors and 20,000 visitors from all over the world.
