Description :
PVD is the abbreviation of Physical Vapor Deposition. It’s a process to produce a metal vapor (Titanium, Chromium and Titanium Aluminum) that can be deposited on electrically conductive materials as a thin highly adhered pure metal or alloy coating. It’s a process carried out in a vacuum chamber at vacuum using a cathodic arc source.
The coating compounds are made up of various elements such as carbides, nitrides, borides and silicide. The makeup of the compound varies some depending on what the application necessitates. A wide variety of colors can be achieved by adding other gases during the deposition.
Specification :
- PVD coating is harder and more corrosion resistant than coating applied by electroplating process.
- PVD coatings do not discolor or tarnish, and have reasonably high corrosion resistance and do not suffer under UV radiation so easy.
- More environmentally friendly than traditional coating processes such as electroplating or painting.
- PVD coatings have excellent wear and abrasion resistance and it’s durable.
